1 - How do I play custom levels?
NOTE: Only the registered version of WinPac 2 is able to play custom levels. To
order the registered version, please visit the order page.
To start a new game with a custom level, click Game on the main menu, click
New..., then click Custom in the Level File section. Click the
Browse... button to select the level file you want to play from a standard
Open File dialog box, or type the name of the level file directly into the space
provided. Finally, click the OK button. That should do it.
If you decide to save your game at some point, the name of the level file will
be stored in your savegame file. Such saved games can then be
opened and resumed just like normal games.

2 - How do I get my joystick to work?
First of all, your joystick has to be installed and calibrated with Windows to
work properly. Please refer to the instructions that came with your joystick and/or
the documentation for the particular version of Windows you're running for guidance.
If these sources turn out to be useless, e-mail me at
WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and I'll help you out as best I can.
Once you're sure your joystick is properly installed and calibrated with Windows,
you need to specify to WinPac 2 that you want to use it. To do so, click
View on the main menu, click Options..., and click the Controls tab
on the window that appears. If your joystick(s) is/are both calibrated and plugged in,
one or both of the Joystick options will be available (otherwise they will be
disabled and will either say (unavailable), which means it isn't properly
installed and calibrated with Windows, or (unplugged) which means you need
to make sure you have it plugged in). Click the appropriate Joystick option
for whichever player you wish to use your joystick with, and then click the OK
button. That should do it.
If your joystick works with WinPac 2, but you still have a hard time controlling
your player (even after double-checking your standard Windows calibration), you can
try calibrating it specifically for WinPac 2. This special calibration is used by
WinPac 2 only and will have no effect on any other program that uses your
joystick. To specifically calibrate your joystick for WinPac 2, click
View on the main menu, click Options..., and click the Joysticks tab
on the window that appears. Select the joystick you wish to specifically calibrate, and
click the Calibrate button to calibrate it (follow the instructions in the
window that appears). Clicking the Reset button will erase any special calibrations
and revert back to the standard Windows calibration. Adjusting the sensitivity slider
will change the degree to which WinPac 2 responds to your joystick's movement. This can
be helpful for joysticks that have inadequate ranges of motion.
If, after all this, you're still having joystick troubles, please e-mail me at
WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and I'll help you out as best I can.

3 - I don't live in the United States. Can I still order WinPac 2?
Yes, you can still order WinPac 2 even if you do not live in the United States.
Orders can be placed both online and offline, as detailed on the order page.
If you order with an accepted major credit card, currency conversions should
be done for you. Cash is accepted in a number of currencies. Checks, money orders,
and postal money orders are accepted if drawn on a US bank in US currency.
If none of these options work for you, please e-mail me at
WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and I'll try to work something out.
As with all orders, if you provide a valid e-mail
address, your registration code will be e-mailed to you. Otherwise it will be sent to you
on a postcard.

4 - Why can't I save levels I create in the level editor?
If you are unable to save levels in the level editor, chances are good you do not
have the registered version of the game. The shareware version lets you play around
with the level editor to see how it works, but does not let you save (or play) custom
levels. If you would like to order the registered version, please visit the
order page.
If you already have the full version of the game, you may need to re-enter your
registration info. If you click Help on the main menu and there is a menu
item that says Register..., then your copy has somehow reverted back to
the shareware version. Just click on Register... and re-enter your registration
info. If the Register... menu item is not there but you are still unable
to save your levels (or if your copy reverts back to the shareware version
frequently), please e-mail me at WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and let me know what's going on.

5 - I lost my registration code. Can you tell me what it was?
Absolutely. Just e-mail me at WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and I'll look it up for you. If possible, please include the name and/or e-mail address you used
when your originally ordered the game.

6 - I ordered WinPac 2, so why have I never received any software?
When you purchased WinPac 2, you were sent a registration code either in an e-mail with
the subject "Thanks for your payment" or on a postcard from Kagi. Entering that
registration code into a shareware copy of WinPac 2 unlocks the game's registered features
and thus gives you the full version of the game. There is no physical product shipped
when you order WinPac 2.
If you do not have a shareware copy of
WinPac 2 already, you can download it from the download page.
Once you have the shareware version of WinPac 2 installed,
start WinPac 2, click the Help menu, click Register..., enter
your registration information, and click the OK button. If your registration
code is valid, you will now have a fully featured copy of WinPac 2. If the game
tells you your registration code is invalid, make sure you entered your user name
exactly as it was given to you (including case). If it still doesn't work, please
e-mail me at
WinPac2@dauwalder.net
and I'll look into it.
